Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 September 2026

Convert Marketing (“Convert”, “we”, “us”, “our”) builds customer acquisition systems for businesses in Nigeria and abroad. This policy explains what personal information we collect through convertmarketing.com.ng, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it.

We are the data controller for the information described here. If anything in this policy is unclear, email hello@convertmarketing.com.ng and we will explain it.

1. Who we are

Convert Marketing
Iju Hills, Lagos, Nigeria
Email: hello@convertmarketing.com.ng
Phone and WhatsApp: +234 703 649 6449
Website: convertmarketing.com.ng

2. Information you give us

When you book a free website diagnostic or contact us through a form on this site, we ask for:

  • your full name
  • your work email address
  • your phone or WhatsApp number
  • your website address, if you have one
  • a short description of what your business does
  • your preferred day and time for the call

We also keep whatever else you choose to send us: emails, WhatsApp messages, documents you share, and notes we take during calls.

We do not ask for financial account details, government identification numbers, health information or any other sensitive personal information through this website, and we would rather you did not send them to us.

3. Information we collect automatically

When you submit a form we record the IP address of the device used, the browser user agent string, the page the form was submitted from, and the date and time of submission. We keep this to identify spam and fraudulent submissions and to hold a record of the consent you gave.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. Our caching and login security plugins record limited technical data, such as the IP addresses behind failed login attempts.

4. Cookies and tracking

This site uses cookies and similar technologies. A consent banner appears on your first visit, and non-essential scripts stay blocked until you make a choice.

  • Essential cookies. Needed for the site to work, for page caching and for security. These are set without consent because the site cannot function without them.
  • Meta Pixel. If you accept marketing cookies we load the Meta Pixel, supplied by Meta Platforms, Inc. It records page views and form submissions and links them to your Meta account where one exists, so that we can measure our advertising and reach people who have already visited this site. You can adjust what Meta shows you at facebook.com/adpreferences.

You can change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, though blocking essential cookies will break parts of the site.

5. Why we use your information

The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 requires a lawful basis for each use of your information. Ours are:

  • To contact you, prepare for and hold the call you booked, and follow up afterwards. Basis: steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and your consent.
  • To create the calendar invitation and video meeting link for your booking and email it to you. Basis: the same.
  • To review your website and prepare the diagnostic you asked for. Basis: the same.
  • To send you occasional emails about our services after you have been in touch. Basis: our legitimate interest in marketing to people who have enquired. You can opt out at any time.
  • To measure and improve our advertising and this website. Basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner.
  • To detect spam, prevent abuse and keep the site secure. Basis: our legitimate interest in protecting our systems.
  • To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations. Basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers we need in order to run the business, and only for the purposes above:

  • Google LLC. We use Google Calendar and Google Meet to schedule your call and generate your meeting link, and Gmail to send email from hello@convertmarketing.com.ng. Your name, email address and chosen meeting time are sent to Google.
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. Where you have accepted marketing cookies, the Meta Pixel sends browsing and form submission events to Meta.
  • Our website hosting provider, which stores this site and its database, including form entries and backups.
  • Professional advisers, such as our accountants and lawyers, where they need it.
  • Public authorities, where the law requires us to disclose information.

7. Where your information is held

This site and its database are held with our hosting provider. Google and Meta process data on servers outside Nigeria, including in the United States and the European Union. Where personal information leaves Nigeria we rely on the transfer conditions set out in the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and on the contractual protections these providers offer.

8. How long we keep it

  • Form entries and enquiry correspondence: up to 24 months from your last contact with us, unless you become a client.
  • Client records: for the length of the engagement and 6 years afterwards, to meet tax and accounting requirements.
  • Calendar entries and meeting invitations: kept in our Google account alongside our other business records.
  • Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
  • Server, backup and security logs: usually under 12 months.

We delete or anonymise information once we no longer need it.

9. How we protect it

The site runs over HTTPS. Access to the website, to form entries and to our email is limited to the people who need it, protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication where the service supports it. We take regular encrypted backups. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but if a breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights we will tell you and report it to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

10. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy
  • have inaccurate information corrected
  • ask us to delete your information
  • ask us to restrict how we use it
  • object to processing we base on our legitimate interests, including direct marketing
  • receive the information you gave us in a portable format
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it
  • complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR give you equivalent rights and you may complain to your national supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@convertmarketing.com.ng. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. There is no charge unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

11. Marketing emails

Every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link. You can also simply reply and ask to be removed, or email hello@convertmarketing.com.ng. We will still send you messages about a call you have booked or work we are doing for you.

12. Automated decisions

We do not make decisions about you by automated means that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects for you.

13. Other websites

This site links to other websites, including our social media profiles. We are not responsible for how they handle your information. Read their policies before giving them anything.

14. Children

This site and our services are aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

15. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and material changes will be flagged here.

16. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, email hello@convertmarketing.com.ng first so that we have a chance to put it right. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng.
